Netflix sits on Jury for the first time
Eurobest, celebrating Europe’s most groundbreaking creativity, has today revealed the line-up of experts selected to award the region’s very best creative and effective work for 2024. Juries will convene in London later this November to participate in live judging.
Alongside revealing the inaugural Creative B2B Jury line-up, led by Sarah Higgins, Managing Director PR and EMEA & APAC Marketing, State Street Global Advisors, Eurobest welcomes the first representative from Iceland this year, Thorleifur Gunnar Gíslason, Design Director, Brandenburg Creative Agency, Reykjavík, Iceland. Gíslason’s work mainly specialises in branding, but he has received many accolades in both the graphic and product design space. Most recently, his team at Brandenburg was awarded Iceland’s first-ever Lion at Cannes Lions 2024. Commenting on his appointment, Gíslason said: “Coming from a small island with a tiny population in the middle of the Atlantic, isolation is something we strive to keep at bay. Inclusion is important. Perspectives are important. Building bridges is important. Fortunately for us, design is a global field, one that inherently fosters collaboration and the exchange of new ideas and fresh perspectives across borders.
“It is a great honour to represent Iceland on the Eurobest Jury for the first time in its history. At Brandenburg, we are committed to placing creativity and bold ideas at the forefront of everything we do, and this opportunity allows me to bring my insights to the broader industry conversation. Serving on the Jury provides a valuable opportunity for me to both contribute and learn a great deal throughout the experience. I look forward to celebrating work that inspires and sets new benchmarks in this ever-evolving field.”
This year also sees the highest representation of creatives from Central Eastern Europe, with 11 Jurors representing markets Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. Brands and platforms represented this year include Google, Mars Petcare, Netflix, Samsung Electronics, StarNews Mobile, TikTok and TV 2 Denmark.
