Eurobest Young Creative Competition Terms Of Entry

1. Definitions

The following words have the following meanings:

Competition: the virtual Young Creative Competition run by Eurobest;
Competition Territory: for the purpose of the Competition those countries are: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City.
Competition Partner: the charity or not for profit organisation working with Eurobest on the Competition or Eurobest itself;
Entry: the entry you submit to the Competition;
Entry Form:the entry form relating to the Competition detailing timings, equipment, deliverables, technical specifications and announcement of winners’ details;
Eurobest: Ascential Events (Europe) Limited, 2nd Floor, 81-87 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6DF, United Kingdom;
Fee: €110 per Entry;
Festival: the Eurobest Festival;
Prize: Eurobest virtual Young Creative Competition Medal (Bronze, Silver or Gold); and
Terms: these terms and conditions of entry to the Competition.


2. How to enter

2.1 This Competition is open only to entrants born on or after 3 December 1993. The right to enter the Competition is not transferable. In the event of any dispute concerning the eligibility of any entrant to participate in the Competition, eurobest’s decision shall be final.

2.2 To enter this Competition, entrants must, at the relevant date of the Festival: (a) comply with the terms of the Entry Form; (b) not have been convicted of any criminal offence; and (c) be a student or be working on a paid basis with a creative, marketing, promotional, public relations, media and/or advertising agency within the Competition Territory.

2.3 An Entry is not accepted until the Fee has been received in full. The Fee can be paid by bank transfer (up until 15 November 2024) or credit card. No refunds, credit or transfers shall be received for any reason even if the Entry and/or the Entrant fails to comply with these Terms and is therefore ineligible or disqualified, or if the Entrant withdraws from the Competition.

2.4 Eurobest reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants at any time during the Competition. Failure to comply with any verification procedures will result in disqualification from the Competition. In the event of any dispute concerning the eligibility of any entrant to participate in the Competition, Eurobest’s decision shall be final.

2.5 Only one Entry per team.

2.6 The dates and timing for the Competition are as determined by Eurobest.

2.7 Proof of sending an Entry is not proof of receipt.


3. Entry

3.1 Any Entry not submitted in accordance with these Terms or the terms of the Entry Form will not be accepted.

3.2 Any images, music and/or film in the Entry must either be: (a) created by the Entrant; or (b) not contain any third party content without written permission of the owner of the rights in the content for the Competition Purposes (as detailed in paragraph 3.5 below). Third party content includes images, music and/or film and any image, film or reference to an identifiable individual. At our request, entrants shall provide to us a list with full details of the third party content used in the Entry, the rights holder of the third party content and details of the usage rights.

3.3 Entries must not contain any content that does, or may, infringe the rights (including intellectual property rights) of any party, or that is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, offensive, pornographic, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, menacing, scandalous, inflammatory, blasphemous, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy, that may cause annoyance or inconvenience or that constitutes or encourages conduct which may be considered a criminal offence or give rise to any civil liability.

3.4 Subject to paragraph 3.3, individual aspects of the Entry may be automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications), however, if the majority or entire Entry is generated using such means, we reserve the right to disqualify the Entry from the Competition.

3.5 Entrants hereby grant to Eurobest, its group companies and the Competition Partner the perpetual, transferable, right and licence to copy, store, archive, amend, edit, reproduce, broadcast, publish and distribute their Entry for any purpose including purposes related to the Competition, the Festival and other commercial business purposes (the "Competition Purposes").


4. Prize

4.1 The winners of the Competition will be the Entry that the judges decide is the best, most original Entry in response to the specification on the Entry Form or otherwise provided.

4.2 Eurobest shall notify the winners on 11 December 2024, and the judges’ decision is final.

4.3 In the event of unforeseen circumstances or in its absolute discretion if it wishes to do so, Eurobest reserves the right to substitute the Prize for an alternative of equal or greater value or to amend, alter or cancel the Competition. No cash alternative will be offered. In the event of cancellation/amendment of the Competition or substitution of the Prize, the parties expressly agree that, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws, the entrant will not be entitled to any compensation. No correspondence will be entered into.

4.4 If a winner is disqualified, Eurobest reserves the right to appoint a substitute winner selected in accordance with these Terms. For the avoidance of doubt, (a) an entrant can withdraw from participating in the Competition and/or the Prize at any stage; (b) Eurobest reserves the right to disqualify an entrant at any stage in accordance with these Terms; and (c) any entrant who withdraws or is disqualified shall not be entitled to any compensation in relation to such withdrawal or disqualification, or to a refund of the Fee.

4.5 Any entrant, including the winners, may be contacted by the Competition Partner to discuss possible business opportunities; however, there is no obligation on the Competition Partner to do so or to enter into any further agreement for the provision of services with any entrant.

4.6 Entrants are responsible for any custom duties, clearance charges, taxes (or similar fees) payable in relation to any Entry Fee or Prize awarded. If an entrant does not pay such taxes that entrant will be responsible for their payment to the relevant authorities.


5. Liability

5.1 To the extent permissible by law, Eurobest does not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any Entrant.

5.2 Other than for death or personal injury arising from its negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, Eurobest excludes to the fullest extent permitted by law all liability for any losses, damages, costs and expenses, whether direct or indirect, howsoever caused in connection with the Competition and/or the Prize including any liability of any kind in connection with the exploitation, advertising and/or promotion of any Entry, as permitted by these Terms.


6. Data Protection

6.1 Any personal information related to an entrant, that is collected or processed by Eurobest at the beginning and during the course of the Competition will be held and used by Eurobest, to administer the Competition, in accordance with Eurobest's privacy policy available on its website. Such personal information shall also be shared with the Competition Partner, to the extent necessary for the administration of the Competition.

6.2 Eurobest may either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, Eurobest will announce the name, job title, company name and country represented by the winners and, if applicable, their winning entries, on or before, 11 December 2024 and during the Festival. Eurobest may also, but will not be obliged to, publish details of the winners and their winning entries on its social media channels.

6.3 If you object to any or all of your personal details being announced or made available, please contact Eurobest via competitions@eurobest.com . In such circumstances, Erobest may still be required to provide the information and winning entry to any relevant regulatory bodies upon request.


7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

7.1 These Terms shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have the non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from running the Competition or the Prize.
